Stuck in a Gaming University...

Aslamualykum. I am the brother that asked the question to whether or not studying in a university that teaches students how to create videogames is haram or not, and I have gotten my answer that it is haram due to us portraying images and creating things. I also asked if there was a islamic online uni I could join, and I also got a link to it. Unfortunately, I cannot leave my uni as I am far too deep and close to getting a degree (about one more year), and my parents won't allow me to leave as it will be a waste of money. They gave me confirmation that I can go to study an Islamic course after I have received my degree, though. Since I am stuck in this situation until further notice, I want to at least avoid making games that portray living creations but I am confused with this abstract. Say, for example, I made a game revolving around a cast of various 3D geometry shapes i.e. the main character will be a blue cube, the other a green triangle. Can I give these shapes human characteristics, such as providing it a voice?; giving the character personality? What is allowed and what isn't allowed? Can I create a game where the characters are not humans, but animals? How about mythical beings, such as aliens or elves, or a being that is like a human but slightly different features, such as their skin being purple? One of the requirements of making a good game and for me to pass is to provide audio and music to the game, is this allowed? It is unlikely that I cannot compromise my religion in order to pass, it seems, and I am very troubled... Also, I'm a big fan on playing videogames, but I really want to stop. I'm just curious: a feature that I really like in a videogame is being able to create your own character and play as them. Is this permissible in Islam? Jazakahllahu Khayran.

Since you are on the verge of graduating, i would advise to finish it and i hope that Allah open your way in using this knowledge to benefit the Ummah in shaa Allah. I am sure you may benefit others instead of creating games. There could be a way that you create Islamic games that will help the Ummah.

So finish your course in shaa Allah. May Allah make it easy for you.
