Question
Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullah barakaatouh Sheikh, if I see someone in public is taking inappropriate pictures of others or if I see that person taking picture of me, can I go up to that person and yell or scream at them for doing that ? Or I should do it in a calm or polite way? As we are told to suppress our anger.. JazakhAllah khair
Answer
Wa'alaykumsalaaam Wa Rahmatullah

Definitely there is no room for harshness in Islam. If someone has taken your right and you need to address it, it is from the etiquettes of Islam that you approach people in a nice and polite manner.

This was the behavior of all the messengers and prophets before.

Indeed, good behavior leads towards melting of someone's heart and turn them towards listening to you.

If Prophet Musa (peace be upon us) was asked by Allah to go and speak to Pharaoh with a soft and lenient speech because Pharaoh was claiming himself to be God, and now imagine any small situation we are in?

let's contemplate on the verse below. It says it all....

“Invite to the way of your Lord with wisdom and good instruction, and argue with them in a way that is best. Indeed, your Lord is most knowing of who has strayed from His way, and He is most knowing of who is rightly guided.” (An-Nahl 125)

May Allah reward you my brother.
