Question
Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu sheikh , I have 3 questions 1) while praying behind an imam should I recite the opening dua of salah (Subhaanaka Allaahumma wa bihamdika, wa tabaarakasmuka, wa ta’aalaa jadduka, wa laa ‘ilaaha ghayruka )during the beginning of salah before the imam recites Fatiha ? Or should I recite it after sheikh finishes reciting Fatiha so I can read this dua along with Fatiha after the imam finishes Fatiha . 2) and also for saying Ameen should I say Ameen twice ? One while the imam says it and also one while I recite Fatiha by my own after the imam finishes reciting Fatiha . 3) what all can I say out loud while praying behind an imam ? ( can I say allahuakbar , sami allahu liman hamidah ..) JazakhAllah khair.
Answer
Wa'alaykumsalaam Wa Rahmatullah Wa Barakaatouh

The opening du'a is to be read after the Takbeer at Tahreem of the Imam and the worshipper.

If the worshipper comes late, he may read it and then listen to the recitation.

The opening du‘aa’ is Sunnah according to the majority of scholars, and whenever the worshipper catches up with his imam in the first or second rak‘ah, he should recite the opening du‘aa’, so long as he is not worried that the imam will bow (too soon). But if he is worried that the imam will bow, then he should recite al-Faatihah only, because reciting it is obligatory.

Yes, we do say AMEEN both to the Imam's recitation as well as ours when we finish.

When we pray with the Imam, we say nothing out LOUD, we can verbally say the takbeeraat, the zikr before and after the ruku , the tasleem and the zikr in ruku and sujud ... all of these we say them in a low voice that only us we may hear.
