Can we change intention during the prayer?

Question
Assalamu Alaikum Wrb,
Brother if we make an intention pray for Zuhr and forgot to pray sunna prayer and during the course of the prayer i.e immediately after realising that I have not prayed sunna.
Can we change our niya and pray sunna?

Changing the intention while praying a Fardh prayer to make it voluntary is permissible.
Changing the intention while making a voluntary prayer into a fardh prayer is not permissible.
Specific intention is needed for fardh prayer.
