Adoption

Dear Sheikh, My friend has a question with regards to adopting an orphan child and his parents are expired, does in Islam it is allowed to adopt him as an his own child? If yes, kindly can you share where is it mentioned in Quran. Jazaak Allah khair.

Wa'alaykumsalaam wa rahmatullahi wa barakaatouh.

There is no adaptation in Islam. He may take care of the child or sponsor him until he is mature but his name cannot be changed to the sponsor father.
