Question
Sheikh, when we are reading behind the imam do we have to utter anything silently like fatihah and another Surah or we just remain silent in a congregation.

Assalaamou'alaikoum.
In regards to Surah Al Faatihah, this is a pillar of the prayer.
There is no doubt that the Surah Al Faatihah has to be read in every raka'ah in which the Imam reads silently and loudly.
As far as when the Imam is reading loudly, we still have to read the Surah Al Faatiha,
While the Imam is reading Surah Al Faatihah, you have to listen, once he stops between Al Faatihah and another Surah, this is when you read the Surah Al Faatihah quickly silently. The scholars says that if ever the Imam gives no time to read the Surah Al Faatihah, then just listen to the Imam. This is the opinion of one of the four Imams as well.
