Question
Which Surahs should be read on a daily to monthly basis e.g reading Surah Yaseen in the morning and Surah Mulk before going to bed? Also, what are their benefits? Another question I have is when I was looking for this on Google, I found a hadith recommending reading Surah Waqiah at night will protect us from poverty but when I consulted someone they said that the Prophet Muhammad(PBUH) read Surah Sajdah and Surah Mulk at night and they had no knowledge on whether this was true or not so I was hoping you could clarify this further. The Prophet(SAW) said, ‘Surah al Waqiah is the Surah of Wealth, so recite it and teach it to your children’[Ibn Asakir](Hadith Mentioned above)
Answer
Wa'alaykumsalaam Wa Rahmatullah.

Apology for the delay due to some technical issue.

In regards to reading any Surah daily or weekly, we need to have authentic proof from the narrations of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).

Surah Yaseen in the morning and Surah Al Waaqi'ah in the night is actually weak. We may read whatever we want from the Quran as it is all blessings and cure brother.

But here are the authentic Soorah to be ready on a daily basis.

As we know on a friday, it is recommended to read the Surah Al Kahf...

With regard to Soorat al-Mulk, there are saheeh ahaadeeth which speak of its virtues:

It was narrated from Abu Hurayrah that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “There is a soorah of the Qur’aan containing thirty verses which have interceded for a man until he was forgiven. It is the soorah Tabaarak alladhi bi yadihi’l-mulk.”

Narrated by al-Tirmidhi, 2891; Ahmad, 7634; Abu Dawood, 1400; Ibn Maajah, 3786. This hadeeth was classed as hasan by al-Tirmidhi and by al-Albaani in Saheeh al-Tirmidhi, 3/6.

Another hadeeth which speaks of its virtues was narrated from Jaabir, that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) never used to sleep until he had recited Alif-laam-meem tanzeel [al-Sajdah] and Tabaarak alladhi bi yadihi’l-mulk [al-Mulk].

Narrated by al-Tirmidhi, 2892; Ahmad, 14249. Al-Albaani said in Saheeh al-Tirmidhi (3/6) that this hadeeth is saheeh.
