Wudu with masa over the sock

Assalaamualikum Sheikh,
In my office prayer room we have a proper praying area with wudu area Alhamdulillah. Most of us do wudu with masa over the sock and I would like to know if it is permissible even in presence of proper wudu area.

Walaykumsalaam.
This is called Al Mash ( wiping over the socks).
The condition is
To wear the socks upon being in an state of Ablution.
To make sure the socks is clean and cover the ankle.
If you've done do, then if next salaah comes and you need to perform Ablution, then you do not need to remove your socks, you may just wipe over them once. (Not under it).
As for a resident, he may do so for a period of 24 hrs after the first wiping.
Which means he puts on his socks for Fajr prayer and then it comes zohr prayer and he want to make Ablution , instead of washing his feet, he just wipe over it and now his duration of 24 hrs starts. He may wipe over his socks as long as he hasn't removed it.
If he wipes and later remove and put another socks while he is still in the state of Ablution, it is fine.
If he removes his socks and broke his wudhu, then he has to re perform.full wudhu and washing his feet as well.
