Intention before prayer

Assalamu Aleykum. Sheikh is it sunnah to pronounce your intention before the prayer? For example: O Allah I intended to pray my sunnah of Magrib

Walaykumsalaam wa rahmatullah.

It is an innovation to pronounce the intention in any ways. (Verbally).

An intention is to be made in the heart.

By you moving towards your prayer may or making Ablution is an intent of praying...
